SHEDDA FRACTAL FOR WEVER & DUCRÉ
We are excited about the launch of SHEDDA fractal, the very first serial lighting with fractal patterns – a pendant light designed for Wever & Ducré in collaboration with Prof. Richard Taylor from Fractals Research. Alongside it came SHEDDA, a variation of SHEDDA fractal: more streamlined in form, equally soft in light.
SHEDDA fractal merges aesthetics with science. Through a precisely designed perforated screen, the luminaire projects intricate fractal patterns onto the ceiling of the room, creating an interplay of light and pattern while illuminating the area below in a soft and natural light with a soothing atmosphere.
This pendant light finds its inspiration in the Fractal Chapel at the State Hospital in Graz by INNOCAD architecture, which illuminates the space with a similar concept to create not only an atmosphere of contemplation and serenity, but also to provide exposure to the health benefits of fractal patterns. Our collaborator Prof. Taylor states: “An important finding from our psychological research is that even a short exposure to fractal patterns can reduce stress by up to 60 percent.”
With its composition of light and patterns, SHEDDA fractal brings those benefits into different venues such as hospitality, residential, retail, or office spaces, as well as wellness resorts to support well-being.
