SHEDDA FAMILY WINS IF DESIGN AWARD 2026

The iF Design Award Night on 27 April 2026 at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin is a highlight of the award season, bringing together thousands of submissions from across disciplines and an international community of designers, brands, and experts. On the following day, 28 April 2026, the iF Design Trend Conference took place at AXICA, next to the Brandenburg Gate.

We are proud to share that the SHEDDA family, a collaboration between 13&9 Design and Fractals Research for Wever & Ducré, has been awarded this year. SHEDDA explores modular light and spatial structures, while SHEDDA fractal extends this concept into a geometric, fractal pattern–based system.

The iF Design Award 2026 jury brings together 129 designers from 21 countries and follows a two-stage process: an initial selection narrows entries to the top 50%, followed by a three-day final jury session in Hamburg, where winners and Gold Awards are decided.

The process is guided by a redesigned structure led by experienced chairpersons, who ensure transparency and objectivity, with outcomes based solely on design quality. All entries are assessed using five criteria, with sustainability, introduced in 2025, now accounting for 20% of the evaluation across all categories.

The evening itself is focused, international, and energetic, a dense mix of perspectives and approaches to design. We would like to thank the iF Design team, the distinguished jury, as well as our partners and collaborators.
